Survey - Getting started and Settings

The Survey add-on lets you create, send, and analyse online surveys, market research forms, staff surveys, and other advanced forms. This article with guide you in how to get started with the first step of adding the settings you want to use.

Create a New Survey

  1. Go to the Content section in the Home environment.

  2. Click NewSurvey.

  3. You will enter the survey’s Settings tab.

  4. Configure your general settings, then click Save.


Survey Settings Overview

Survey Name

  • Enter a name for the Survey that will be used internally.

  • Keep Browser title checked to use the name also in the participant’s browser.

  • Uncheck it if you want a separate internal and public name for the survey.

Default Language

  • Select the default language of your Survey.

  • If you want to make your survey available in other languages, then create the translations for your survey in the Translations tab. You will be able to translate all the text included in your survey; from headings, questions and descriptions to system messages and button texts.


    Your participants will be able to select which language they want to do their survey in, by selecting one of your translated languages from a dropdown list in the upper right corner of the survey.

Response Limit / Max Answers

  • Set a maximum number of responses if you want to limit the number of incoming answers to your survey

  • Set to 0 for unlimited responses.

Response limit Page

  • Appears only if max answers > 0.

  • Choose what happens when limit is reached:

    a) Redirect to a survey page. When choosing this option you can edit your "Response limit" survey page in the Survey tab.

    b) Redirect to a specific external URL/webpage.

Last Day of Survey

  • Set an end date for the survey availability.

  • If set: choose a Last day page or external URL/webpage for participants new participants that try to start the survey after the last day has expired.

  • Edit the “Last day” page in the Survey tab.

Thank You Page

  • Choose a survey page or external URL/webpage to display after the participant completes the survey.

  • Edit the “Thank you” page in the Survey tab.

Template

  • Choose a template for the survey that controls layout, text styles, button designs, and system messages.

When Revisiting the Survey

Choose what happens if a participant returns to the survey after completion:

  • View previous answers

  • Redirect to a Survey page (Revisit Page). Edit the Survey page in the Survey tab.

  • Redirect to an external URL/website

  • Reset all answers

The Survey is anonymous - checkbox

Check this option if you do not want to include any demographical
data in the survey reports or see who has responded the survey.

Note! Cannot be undone once enabled.

Additional options

  • Show progress bar - Check to display a page-progress indicator that shows what page you are on in the survey.

  • Use HTTPS - Converts all survey links to HTTPS.

  • Custom button labels - override template button texts. This option is useful if you want to change the labels of the action buttons in the survey without having to make changes in any template used.

Other button options

  • Delete all responses - Removes all collected answers.

  • Copy - Duplicates the survey.

  • Publish - Copies the survey from a master account to a subaccount.
    This is only visible if you are working on a master account and have subaccounts connected to that account.
