Creating Form fields (Formbuilder)
To get you started quicker, you will have a preset amount of form fields including Email, First name, Last name, Submit button and many more.
You can create an unlimited amount of form fields, under the Fields tab of the Form builder tool.
Form field Settings
Name
The name of the Form field
Field type
Choose the type of the field from the drop-down (ex. e-mail, text, radio button etc.)
Demographic data field
Connect the field to the correct demographic data field by choosing a DD field from the drop down. If the necessary DD field is missing, you can also create a new one.
Language
All form modules will be in English by default. To make it easier for those who have websites in different languages, you can update an existing form field with a new language instead of creating a new one. You simply press “Add new language” and select the language of your choice.
Title
Enter the name of the form field that the visitor sees. Depending on the language you have chosen, change the title to the correct text.
Note: The title will be empty when you add a new language, so you remember to fill this in before pressing Save.
NOTE: If you have selected checkbox, radio button, or drop-down under the Field Type you will notice two columns presented to you when you select a different language.
Left column will show the values placed under English field and the translated text should be filled in the right column.
English text is what the Form builder stores in the database and the translated text is what the visitor sees in the translated form. Whenever you create a form in other languages it is best practice to fill both left and right column.
Placeholder
If you want to have a pre-set value in the form field (used for descriptions etc.), use the placeholder and type in the text of your choice.
Image field
While working with this field, remember to add a link and an alternative text (describing the image) to increase accessibility of your form.
Advanced
With the advanced options of form fields, you can control the markup generated in your form. Usually, you will not need to use this.
Once the Form Fields are created, it’s time to create the form.
