About Split Test
Split testing, or A/B testing, is a method for comparing two or more versions of your email to see which one performs better. This is helpful when you want to test things like subject lines, sender names, delivery time, or email content. Split test help you make data-driven decisions that enhance the effectiveness of your email campaigns.
When To Use Split testing
Use Split testing whenever you are unsure which version of an email will produce better results. For example, if you want to know which subject line gets more opens or if a different call-to-action increases clicks, a split test will show you what your audience prefers.
In just a few steps, you can set up, monitor, and use split test results within Apsis Pro for more effective email outreach.
Getting Started With Split Testing In Apsis Pro
Go to the Projects section in Apsis Pro. This is the starting point for all your campaigns and tests.
Click the New icon at the top right and select Split test from the menu. Begin by entering a clear name for your split test. This name is only for your own reference.
Select recipients
Choose Your Audience by selecting one or more recipient lists.
Apply a filter to include only subscribers that match the criteria from your selected recipient lists.
In the Selection field you can see the size of your Audience, based on unique subscribers. Here, you can also segment your recipients based on their level of inactivity/activity.
Note! Go to your General configurations in the Account tab to enable these segmentation options and define when a subscriber on the account should be counted as inactive.
Select test groups
Decide the number of test groups (typically two, labeled A and B) and adjust the size of each group using the slider. You can test with just a percentage of your total list or the entire group.
Consider if you want the winning variant to be automatically sent to the remaining subscribers after the test completes.
Choose what you want to test and only test one element per split test for accurate results.
