Managing Recipient Messages

This article explains how to configure and customize recipient messages in Apsis Pro, including subscription, unsubscription, and confirmation messages.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Accessing Message Settings

  1. Go to Recipient Settings.

  1. Select the Messages tab.

Here, you can manage opt-in and opt-out messages.
Use dynamic parameters such as:

  • Subscriber email

  • Mailing list name

  • Confirm URL (if applicable)

These parameters help personalize your messages.

Subscription Messages

Enable subscription confirmation emails by ticking the "Send email to confirm subscription" checkbox. This ensures new subscribers receive immediate acknowledgment of their sign-up.

Configure the following elements:

  1. Subject Line: Create a clear, branded subject line that confirms the subscription

  2. Email Message: Write a welcoming message that sets expectations for your communication

  3. Browser Confirmation Message: Customize the message displayed in the browser after successful subscription

Best Practice: Keep your subscription confirmation messages warm and informative. Include details about what subscribers can expect and how often they will hear from you.

Unsubscription Messages

Manage your unsubscription process by ensuring the "Send email to confirm unsubscription" box is checked. This provides closure for departing subscribers.

Set up these components:

  • Subject Line: Use a respectful, clear subject that acknowledges their decision

  • Email Message: Thank subscribers for their past engagement and confirm their unsubscription

  • Browser Confirmation Message: Display a final confirmation message in their browser

Important: Unsubscription messages help maintain your brand reputation and can sometimes encourage re-engagement in the future.

Confirmed Subscription (Double Opt-In)

For confirmed (double opt-in) subscriptions, confirmation emails are automatically sent to verify subscriber intent. This is a crucial compliance feature that ensures explicit consent.

Configure these elements:

  • Email Subject Line: Make it clear this is a confirmation request

  • Email Message: Explain the confirmation process and include the confirmation link

  • HTML Confirmation Message: Update the browser display text shown after successful confirmation

Why Double Opt-In Matters: This process protects your sender reputation, ensures compliance with regulations like GDPR, and builds a higher-quality subscriber list.

Other Settings

Fine-tune your communication with these additional options:

Default Text version

  • Update the plain text version of your emails for recipients who cannot accept HTML newsletters

  • Ensure your message remains clear and actionable without formatting

Tell A Fiend

  • Customize the subject line and message for the "Tell a Friend" forwarding feature

  • This allows your subscribers to easily share your content with their network

  • Make the referral message compelling and branded to encourage sharing

Save and Apply Changes

Click Save to apply all your message configurations. Your new settings will take effect immediately for all future subscription activities.
